Why You Need Professional Tree Removal Services

Tree removal services are necessary when a tree poses a safety hazard, such as when it is damaged, leans towards buildings or power lines, or is in danger of falling. Additionally, tree removal may be required if a tree is obstructing a new construction site, causing damage to other plants, or simply taking up too much space. Trees that have died due to disease may also require removal, as they can attract pests and infect other plants in the area.

Signs You Need Trees Trimmed or Removed

There are certain signs that will let you know if a tree should not be cut or removed. If the tree appears dead or shows signs of decay such as dead branches or rot, you should begin considering tree removal options.

Trees may grow too tall or lean toward your home, power lines, or fencing if they have suffered severe weather damage. In any of these scenarios, it’s important not to take a chance as the tree could potentially fall and cause devastating destruction to your property.

Dead or Dying Trees

Trimming dead or dying trees is important to prevent potential hazards, such as falling branches or trees, which can cause property damage, injuries or even fatalities.

Tall or Leaning Trees

Trimming tall or leaning trees is important to prevent them from coming into contact with buildings or power lines, which can cause damage, power outages or other safety hazards.

Damaged Trees

Removing damaged trees is essential to avoid further harm or injury and allow for new, healthy growth to take its place.

How We Handle a Tree Removal Job

Here is how our tree removal services run on a typical job, from the first visit to the final cleanup.

  • Free on-site estimate. One of our certified arborists walks the property with you, checks the tree’s health and lean and what sits beneath it, and tells you whether it needs to come down or can be saved with trimming.
  • The plan. We decide how the tree comes down: felled whole where there is open room, or taken apart in sections from the top when it stands over a roof, fence or garden. For difficult removals we bring in a crane.
  • Removal day. We mark off the work area and lower limbs in controlled pieces so they land where we planned.
  • Cleanup. We haul away the limbs and wood and rake the area. If you want the stump gone, we grind it and can fill the hole with topsoil.

How to Prepare

Move cars, grills, patio furniture and potted plants away from the tree, and keep kids and pets inside while we work. Tell us about sprinkler lines, septic systems or buried cables nearby, and give neighbors a heads up if limbs hang over their side. Leave gates unlocked or let us know how to get equipment into the yard.

How much does it cost to cut down a 30 ft tree?

The price depends on how long the job takes, because our fees are based on the actual hours spent on site. A 30 foot tree in an open yard can come down quickly, while the same tree leaning over a house needs sectional work and more time. The free estimate gives you a price for your specific tree before we start.

Can I get a tree removed for free?

Usually not, but homeowners insurance may cover removal when a storm drops a tree on your house. In those cases we work with your insurance company and can bill them directly. Removing a healthy tree by choice is normally an out-of-pocket cost.

What is the cheapest time of year for tree removal?

Late fall through winter is often the least expensive time, because bare branches make a tree lighter to rig and firm ground lets equipment move with less lawn damage. Since we charge by hours on site, a quicker job costs less. A dead or leaning tree should not wait for a season, though.
